It has the following characteristics in structure and performance:

(1) The whole machine adopts the form of single vehicle and double cab. The utility model has the advantages of compact and reasonable structure, good visibility of the driver, flexible maneuverability, convenient use and maintenance, and low cost. Its cost is about 10% higher than that of a battery electric locomotive of the same specification.

(2) In order to adapt to the two working conditions of the overhead battery and reduce the loss of starting energy, the locomotive adopts thyristor chopper voltage regulation for starting and speed regulation in both operating conditions. In order to realize the conversion between the two working conditions of the wire and the battery and the mutual locking during operation, the system is equipped with a dedicated explosion-proof contactor box, and the box is equipped with two dedicated DC contactors.

(3) In order to ensure the reliable braking of the locomotive, the locomotive is equipped with two sets of braking devices, namely hand wheel brake shoe brake and air brake, so as to realize the working brake, emergency brake and parking brake of the locomotive.

(4) In order to facilitate the driver to understand the running status and various faults of the locomotive. A dedicated combined display device is installed in the two engine rooms of the locomotive. The built-in voltage digital display has functions such as overhead line, battery working condition indication, battery over-discharge and chopper runaway display and protection. In addition, there are electrical interlocks between the two cab controllers, overload and short-circuit protection, etc. According to the needs of users, a gas alarm and power-off device can also be installed.
