What Are The Reasons That Affect The Battery Life Of The Electric Motor/Battery Locomotive?

(1)The battery is over-discharged. In order to avoid over-discharge of the battery, the locomotive design has a battery discharge indicator. When the battery is in use, the driver must stop using the battery after the discharge indicator alarms.

(2) The battery does not allow electricity according to the specified specifications. It is not advisable to allow the current to be too long, otherwise the temperature of the electrolyte will be too high, which will make the separator brittle, burnt, and the plate is corroded and bent. If the current is too large, the chemical reaction is severe and the active material is easily washed away. But the current should be too small, otherwise, the power-on time is too long. Therefore, it must be charged in strict accordance with the method specified in the operation manual of the wrong acid battery.

(3) Electrolyte corrosion and dust pollution. After the battery is allowed to be energized, it is necessary to flush the coal dust on the surface of the battery box with the clean water, etc. Otherwise, the electrolyte will not only erode the power box, but also damage it. More importantly, these dusts and electrolytes can cause ground leakage currents and cause major accidents.
