Battery-powered locomotives are designed for horizontal rail transport especially in mines and enclosed spaces. They are also intended for use in potentially explosive environment with coal dust and methane in volume up to 1.5 %. Speed and engine torque is controlled by the frequency converter. Trolleys and axle bus-bars/pantographs are fitted with carbon or aluminum strips. Engine and brake control is proportional by means of one lever in its entire range of travel speed.

Explosion-proof special type accumulator industrial and mining electric locomotive is suitable for the main transport roadway of high gas mine as the power source of hauling mining car and rickshaw transport equipment.
