What is the Mining Locomotive?

2021-09-17
Mining Locomotive is generally referred to as a traction device for rail transport. It is powered by a high-voltage cable or battery and uses a traction motor to provide power to drive the wheels. Therefore, its traction is not only limited by the power of the traction motor, but also by the friction coefficient between the wheels and the rail surface. In addition, the slope of the transport track has a considerable impact on its transport capacity, which generally requires a slope of 3‰ and a local slope of no more than 30‰.
There are various classification standards for Locomotive, here are four main ones.
1、According to the different working environment, it is divided into open-pit mining locomotive and underground locomotive.
2、According to the different gauges, there are standard gauge locomotive and narrow gauge locomotive.
3、According to the nature of power supply, the locomotives are divided into DC locomotives and AC locomotives, of which DC locomotives are more widely used.
4、According to the different ways of power supply, the locomotive is divided into two types of trolley locomotives and battery locomotives. The battery of the battery locomotive has ordinary lead-acid battery, maintenance-free battery and lithium battery.
