First of all, the most intuitive difference between an explosion-proof electric locomotive and an ordinary electric locomotive is its thickness, which is generally protected by a thick steel plate with a thickness of 2-4 cm, especially in the parts such as driver control and lighting. The impact resistance of the car body is also relatively enhanced.
The second is the gas breaker. Although it is still the customer's choice whether to equip or not, it is a necessary safety equipment on explosion-proof electric locomotives. It will detect the gas concentration in the air in real time. When the gas concentration in the air reaches a certain value, it will generate an alarm, and even automatically cut off the power when it is too high to avoid danger.
Due to the importance attached to safety in mining equipment, electric locomotives basically adopt many safety designs. The use of explosion-proof components and safety equipment has also become the biggest difference between explosion-proof electric locomotives and ordinary electric locomotives.
