What is the mechanical brake of the 8-ton underground mining locomotive?
Strictly speaking, there are only two types of braking methods for 8-ton underground mining locomotives, mechanical braking and electrical braking, and the latter is generally used as an auxiliary braking method. The main difference between the two lies in the braking principle. Mechanical braking ultimately uses friction braking, such as the friction between the brake shoe and the wheel, while electrical braking is braking by controlling the direct motor.
Then mechanical brakes are mainly divided into pure mechanical brakes, hydraulic brakes and compressed air brakes. The difference between the three is the source of the braking force.
