Mine electric locomotive brakes are almost all friction type except for the damping device. They are mainly divided into disc brakes and shoe brakes according to the different rotating elements. Although the brake performance of the disc brake is stable, the brake disc is exposed to the air. The disc surface is prone to rust in the wet environment of the well, which affects the safe braking of the locomotive, and the manufacturing cost is high, and the friction plate is easy to wear. In the case of low speed, the shoe brake has higher durability, less brake shoe wear, low manufacturing cost, large braking torque, and can be enclosed in the wheel hub, which is less affected by the external environment. Therefore, considering the comprehensive consideration, the shoe brake is more suitable for the braking condition of the mining locomotive.
