Reverse braking is to reverse the phase sequence of the motor, so that the motor generates a braking torque that blocks the original movement. Obviously this works very well, not only the braking force is large but the braking process is quite fast. However, the disadvantage is also obvious, that is, the impact is relatively large, and it is easy to damage the motor and transmission mechanism.
Therefore, the reverse brake is more suitable for installation on occasional equipment, but not suitable as a braking system for electric locomotives. Of course, if it is used for occasional emergency stops, there is no problem, but remember to check whether the relevant parts are damaged.
